Originally established to meet the routine and unscheduled maintenance needs of our own transport group, our service offerings have greatly expanded, aiming to provide as many as possible of the services that our customers require in-house, outsourcing only what is necessary to strategic partners.
Russell Engineering service and repair a wide variety of plant and equipment, and as a best practice organisation, we share resources and knowledge to ensure the efficient and effective repair of equipment that is presented to us.
We are in the enviable position that should the workload increase from the pre-planned levels, we can reschedule the workloads of our sites to cope with the demand flux by redirecting staff from any of our three workshops – this allows us to call on over 50 qualified and IRTE licenced technicians.
Managed and controlled from its main facility in Glasgow, our maintenance sites are strategically based in Glasgow (Springburn), Coatbridge and Alloa, with strategic partners located throughout the UK.
The administration team has experience in dealing with a wide variety of customers, including local authorities, ensuring that all aspects of job costs are properly presented, understood and agreed prior to billing.
All our group workshops are equipped with diagnostic software and the tooling required to deal with all but the most specialised maintenance requirements. All diagnostic software is updated, and equipment is tested and calibrated as required to ensure it remains suitable for the required tasks.
As well as internal quality checks, we employ the services of the Freight Transport Association to audit the standard of work performed in all our workshops, and at any time we shall make our workshops available to customer staff or their appointed agents to carry out audit inspections of the work we perform for you.
We are highly active when it comes to reducing the environmental impact of the group and its customers looking constantly for ways in which the carbon footprint of the heavy logistics industry can be reduced.
We have a long history of training apprentices, with the core of our technical team comprised of former group apprentices.
Our approach to quality has resulted in a 99%+ DVSA MOT pass rate and should give you the confidence that you need to know that your equipment is in safe hands.
Completed in 2022 our new ATEX facility will allow us to work on dangerous goods vehicles and trailers, and now approved as a 'red' DVSA test lane for dangerous goods
